Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
A GASOLINE DANGEROUS TO YOUR CAR & MOTORCYCLE
New gas coming to your gas station; PAY ATTENTION! (You can skip over the ad > ) Also for your information. Harley-Davidson Motorcycles says that this fuel burns so much hotter then regular or high test gasoline that the air cooled engines may seriously overheat and destroy the engine. If you like your car, please watch this short video. It's the real deal! I'm not sure how the EPA could okay something like this..... New gas coming to your gas station, so pay attention. Watch video about E15 gas if you have a car older than 2012 OR WATCH ON YOUTUBE (recommended) https://www.youtube.com/embed/ceW9Nc1...yer_detailpage

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
there is legislation being proposed in Illinois anyway, to REDUCE the amount of ethanol in gasoline.
Big Ag is spending a lot of money to stop that and add more ethanol, lots of TV commercials the usual nonsense I hope they ban the stuff completely |

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
Here's what I think about ethanol, go have a big dinner with corn. Than when the urge strikes you go to the bathroom. Now take a look..... what do you see? Yes most of the corn went straight through and you got zero energy from what passed through you to the throne
This I believe is what happens with ethanol, most of it goes straight through your car with no energy benefits and ends up being nothing more than a filler that have to pay through the nose for This is just my opinion and no scientific studies were conducted..except for the poopen part Looking for the Sunday paper in WV(more research) dusty |

I wont tell you about an experiment with pigs, corn and poop done by Oregon State University in the 60 or early 70's that we were told about in AG classes.

Our fathers and grandfathers must be doing pirouettes in their graves should they know what has become of us.
Alas, lest we go political on what should be a technical board. Joe K

Not sure what your statement means, something political, I'm sure, but if your father and grandfather would not approve of whats become of you, I cannot help you there. My father is proud of me, I'm sure, and my grandfathers would be as well. I believe in promoting the truth and factual information and as such I don't involve myself in politics. Fact: Where I live, E-10 has been at the pumps for a dozen years or more. Never paid much attention to it and never had any problems with it. Hope this gets closed soon as the b.s. on these threads generally make my head hurt. |

But I gotta agree this e15 is all bad! Unless you have a motor built for it. ethanol takes 40% more by volume! So need more compared to gas. But It makes more horsepower.. how does it go, gas is for cleaning, alcohol for drinking and nitro for fuel? |

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
The part that interested me was that the ethanol is heaver than gas and will seperate with time. I left my Harley in the garage with a full tank of E-10. A few weeks later I walked in the garage and gasoline was all over the floor. The ethanol had eaten away the fuel valve and fuel line and the gas poured out of the tanks.

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
When the crap gas first came out it ate the fuel hose on my 1949 Chevy truck and I lost a full tank of gas.
That should help clean up the enviroment. |

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
And mess up your lawn mower, chain saw, weed whacker and any other thing you use it in. It it is real bad on things that are not used often.
And I do not see how it can help the pollution. The framers are not using pollution free tractors . It takes a lot of corn to make a gallon of alke. So pay me now or pay me latter. But you are still going to get pollution. Last edited by George Miller; 01-27-2014 at 09:04 AM. Reason: add to |

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
Big business around the seashore replacing aluminum gas tanks in watercraft. Made gas more expensive with it, now they say it'll cost more if we take it out.

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
Is there anything we can ad to our tanks to avoid the separation? I keep a full tank of fuel in the A to avoid the rust I spent months removing, I don't want that to happen again, and i
sure can't afford to have it eat away at my tank or fuel valve and leak ten gallons of gas in an attached garage.

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
Running 10% corn in your gasoline, will save 10% oil. But, if your car is running 10% less gas mileage, where is the savings ?

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
It really wont save 10% in gas. The Framers are using gas to plant and harvest the corn. We are actually using more gas by using corn.

Re: Beware of new EP15 gasoline.
Consider this:
1.) Tilling/cultivating the soil to prepare for planting -tractor 2.)Run your tractor over the land to plant 3.) Apply fertilizer (oil based) with tractor 4.) Apply weed killer (oil based plus dangerous to humans) tractor sometimes they use airplanes 5.) Harvest corn with a combine 6.) haul the corn to the elevator with a semi truck 7.) Elevator uses natural gas or propane to dry the corn down 8.) Semi truck hauls the dried corn to the ethanol plant 9.) Ethanol plant uses LOTS of natural gas to cook the corn mash not counting the fact that this stuff is too corrosive to send thru the pipeline system, so Warrne Buffet's BNSF railroad hauls it across country to a distribution point where it gets trucked to the gas station SO if you can add up the 'savings' from foreign oil, you quickly see that Ethanol is a pure scam. At best it is a one-for-one trade off, in other words on a good day, there IS no savings for a fuel that is driving the price of food thru the roof and gets piss poor fuel mileage for your car. Only ones that benefit are the farmers thru huge subsidies, John Deere for selling equpiment, and the Giant Ag Corporations in this country. This winter propane in the Midwest has doubled because they used such a huge amount, drying corn. There's your bloody savings-------------- |
