Packaging and Shipping a Fender from Houston TX
I found a '40 rear pu fender in Houston and am looking to get it shipped to MT. The seller is age 86 and not able to package the fender to ship. What, if any, shippers will package also? Any other suggestions like another seller that would handle the shipping?

For fenders and doors, I go to a bicycle shop. They have had wide enough bicycle boxes which fit the (rear) fenders on my sedan delivery. With the "fat tire" bikes with fat forks, the boxes may fit a pickup fender.

If you can find a box that refrigerators come in you can cut it down and re-glue it to make a box for your fender. Better yet, wrap it in shrink wrap with a label. Or stop by an auto body shop and use one of their boxes that sheet metal parts come in.

GREYHOUND, you need to package it , provide a phone number and address and pick the item up at their location.
Please check with them for further info. VERY REASONABLE!! |

A pair of wardrobe boxes from UHaul will work for a rear fender

Re: Packaging and Shipping a Fender from Houston TX
If it is a single rear fender, for $6 at Harbor Freight you can purchase a shipping blanket, wrap the fender with the blanket, and then use some of the clear wrap you can buy for packaging at a Home Depot or Lowe's. It takes maybe 5-10 minutes to wrap the fender with the blanket and clear wrap. If it is a front fender, it would take two blankets. The clear wrap comes in 500 or maybe 1000 foot rolls and is inexpensive. I haven't used the other shipping companies but I have had good luck with Greyhound.
