Default Slip Plate appears to have changed its name...

Went to NAPA today to pick up some Slip Plate. They informed me that it has a new name, new number, and of course, a new price. Has anyone else found this out and / or do they know if it's the same stuff? (I think they hired a new kid with an MBA in their marketing department.)

Not really the same stuff, the lawn mower stuff has a lower temperature operating range than the stuff in the yellow can according to the spec. sheets.
Suspect that NAPA got a batch meant to go to Home Depot or elswhere.

People use it to lubricate leaf springs. When they're disassembled and cleaned, the bottoms of all the leaves are sprayed with it. Then, they're allowed to dry before being reassembled. This allows them to slide very nicely with the adjacent leaves.

I bought two cans from NAPA today. I asked for Slip Plate and found it in their on line catalog. They had to get it from the warehouse, as they did not have it in stock. I called in the morning and picked it up this afternoonAbout $10 a can, from what I could tell.

I bought two to make them happy and to have some on hand. I am almost finished with my two front springs for my 45 truck. I just might do the rear springs when I am finished. I rebushed and rebooted the spring hangers and was persuaded to disassemble the springs while I had the springs off. I hope to finish up my one weekend project on the second weekend coming up!

Your NAPA dealer (or warehouse) is better than mine. Mine didn't give me what I asked for but yours did. Guess I gotta move?
