Yes, in every car and truck, new or old. And yes I have had to use them.

It's on my "to buy" list. My question is, where do people have it stored for quick access?

Most of the time I do. It's a 3 liter pop bottle with an 1/8" hole drilled in the cap and plugged with a golf tee. It can put out a lot of fire, or double as spare water if needed for cooling. It doesn't make the corrosive mess that dry chemicals do.

Yes, in all vehicles, one in garage and another in the kitchen.

Yes. Most local shows require one. Luckily, we have rear mounted trunks on both cars.

Yes. The important thing is where do your store it. If it is, say, in the coupe tray and you get hit, it is a missile. If it is buried in the trunk or rumble area, you may not be able to reach it or a good Samaritan can't find it. Some strap it to the pax kick panel.
On my Cabbie, I have the running board-mounted expandable junk rack and the FE, spare water, in a body matching-color jug, stay there. On the trunk rack I have a picnic tub for the ice and beeeerz and I certainly don't want to be drinking a FE.

Yes.

31 Model A: I have it mounted on the passenger side interior cowl kick panel. One of the screw holes lines up perfect with the mount.

Thank you for the replies folks. Aside from some tools, lawnchairs, and jumper cables, what are some other must haves.

Clem I thought with all the beer you drink you don't need a FE.

Thanks, that was about the only place I could think one could be placed and have an easy access to. As Clem said, a missile behind you, in the rumble or trunk is useless too. That's is where it will go...thanks.

There's just not that much room in a CCPU like mine. While I haven't mounted one yet, I have thought that in the center of the seat pan (directly aft of the shift lever) would be a good place. It would have to be laying on it's side, but that's how the small airplanes do it anyway.
