Haven't seen any torque wrenches, just wondering if cotter pins were dealer installed item done as a pre sale prep item so it didn't slow down assy. line with workers doing this detail work, or were they installed at end of assy. line.

Torque wrenches didn't see real use till late 1930's. P.A.Sturtevant who was associated with Kwik-Way co. in Iowa was working with the Chrysler corporation to develop torque wrenches. They had a company in Addison, Il. where I live. Was later merged with Dresser Industries and Richmont.
