Default A good today

Took advantage of a beautiful day to finally get some work done on my coupe chassis. Thought I'd share. Dropped the rebuilt engine in with the help of my son and all went pretty smooth. With out a frame spreader our creative juices got to flowing and we did well with 2x4's in various positions taking care not to put a lot of pressure on the housings.
Unlike you poor guys in snow country, down here in South Florida I can't wait for winter. Sometimes it's just too darn hot to work in the summer sun. All in all a wonderful day with one of my sons and doing what I like to do. Retirement is a special thing.
A special thanks to the FordBarn community and this site for all the information I've picked up to get me this far. This is a great group of people. Rusty

Once you complete the chassis, I hope you're going to wire it, make a temp gas tank, and drive it to be sure everything goes round & round as it should. I've done that and it's great fun.

Nothing prettier than a Model A chassis after dropping the rebuilt engine in. Good work and thanks for the posting.

Yes sir Glenn. That's my plan. Everything will be easier to set up and adjust without the body in the way. I've watched with envy how others have done it so my time is near. I putted around in my town sedan for a while before taking it apart and I do miss driving an "A". My coupe became the priority so i can't wait to get on the road again. Thanks

Could not agree more…it is the way my father imparted values to me, and the way my son gets them too…a transmission is much more valuable to one who has disassembled, repaired and reassembled...here we were on Father's day fitting the wood sills for our 180A.
