A-14429 Cowl Lamp Switch Wiring Assembly

Does anyone know what color the Cowl Lamp wiring is? Also wire guage sizes and number of wires that make up the A-14429 harness? pictures of original harness? This is the dealer installed harness for adding cowl lights for a 31 standard tudor.

Also was the A-13335 switch (the switch under the dash) two-way, or three way?

I wired mine to come on with the tail lights using the switch at the bottom of the steering column.

The switch at issue has three separate wire connectors.

One wire is connected to the junction box and is therefore hot. Another wire is connected to the cowl lights. And the third wire is connected to the tail light.

When the switch is in the off position, none of the three wires are connected to another. When the switch is on all three wires are connected.

If the switch had only two poles, one for the hot wire and the other for the tail light and cowl lights combined, with the switch off, the cowl lights would turn on when the headlights, either high or low if so equipped, were switched on. This would happen because the cowl lights would be back fed by hte tail light.

In order for the cowl lights to operate independently, it is necessary to separate them from the tail light light circuit when the cowl lights are not switched on.

This is the original wiring of my delux coupe, I know it is not the acc with the seperate switch, the wire going into the terminal block is for the dome light. ---I would think that the routing, and brackets would be similar, ---hope it helps.
