Default New guy here
I am working on a "Resto/custom" 28-30. I am building it mostly out of parts that were lying around my buddies shop. One day he said he probably had enough parts from past projects to build a complete car, so I am giving it a shot. My experience has mostly been Air cooled VW's, I felt it was time to move up to American steel.

The best way to get started into this addiction is to have somone give you parts. I had a friend give me a cowl with bullet holes in it and since then I've given countless hours to this project. Welcome to the fun!

Welcome. With the Gatling in the picture I am hesitant to mention that the oil return tube should be black, however, it does look perfectly good in red also.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes. I know the Gatlin gun was a little off topic, but I figured Folks that enjoy early fords might appreciate an early Machine gun. It would look cool in a Pickup, but we have other plans for the back half, I will post more pics as it comes along, don’t want to let the cat out of the bag just yet. My buddy has a thing about painting miscellaneous engine parts red, the reason for the red oil return Since he is supplying the parts, knowledge, and restoration skills (I'm just grunt labor, but learning the art) I have to go with some of his quirks, this is not going to be a true 100 point restoration. With that being said we are not going to do anything that could not be undone, we hope to make it look like something Henry Ford himself may have built.

Looks like a good set of bones to work with ... Take your time with the project and enjoy .. It will all be worth it at the end .... You could cut a hole in your shop wall and leave the gun sticking out ... that will even keep the door to door salesmen away Harry / Pepsi-Mechanic

I love what I see in the background of your picture. Lathe, mill and metal shear. Great machinery for repair and fabricating hard to find parts. Did you fab the Gatling gun?? Keep the pictures coming----nice work.

My mentor/tutor/teacher, is a fabricator from days gone by, he has all the tools. He started off by making Motorcycle frames, then moved on from there, now retired and just makes “Toys”. The Gatling is the real deal. I will snap more pics of the "Toys" and other oddities around the shop as well as my progress.
