Default Evaporust in cooling system for a day?

Has anybody tried using EVAPORUST to clean out the cooling system? It seems to disolve rust very well on nuts, bolts, and parts. I've never seen chunks of stuff, just sediment from disolved rust, so I would expect the same in the cooling system... just drain out the sediment and flush the system. All thoughts or experience welcome.

If I were to do this, I would do the block and radiator separately.

I would also leave in for more than a day.
Have you considered the vinegar treatment (do a search)??

Yes it works well but leave it in longer... Evaporust has a product made for cooling systems. Search it up

I've read about the vinegar a month or two ago; I can re-read it. I just rebuilt and reinstalled my engine. The machine shop didn't use the MOST aggressive methods to clean the block because of the babbitt. So I could see some rust inside the water chambers. I probably don't have to do anything, and my radiator is like new. It was just a thought. I am breaking in the rebuilt engine, and drained the water; it had just a hint of rust. Vinegar sounds easy and harmless.

Vinegar is an acid, Evaporust is neutral. Evavorust will not harm base metal. Can you guess what I would use?

I used Evaporust in my cooling system a few months ago. I filled the system and ran it till it got warm. I left it in the system for about 1 week and ran it a couple of times to warm it up, but not over do it. When I drained it, it was black, which according to Evaporust means it is spent. I bought mine at Tractor Supply when it was on sale, I had to visit multiple stores as they only had one gallon in each.

I also was replacing the water pump at the time. I then rinses several times with distilled water before I put in the new wate pump. After I did this, the system did run cooler. Before it was approaching 190 and a bit more when going up hills and that was in 65 degree weather. Now its much hotter out and stays below 190. So I don't know if it was improved because of the Evaporust or the new pump or both. I think the new pump is more aggresive than the old one which had started to leak. Also when drained, there were no pieces of rust or flakes, just dirty evaporust.

Good to hear you tried it, with good results. I bought Evaporust from their website last year... about $75 to $85 for a 5gal pail (they ship the pail with concentrate in the bottom. You add water and reconstitute it... much cheaper this way; not shipping full weight).
I'm not having any cooling problems; just didn't like the look of rust in the block.

Has anyone used Evapo-Rust Cooling System Cleaner made specifically for cleaning Cooling Systems?

And has any one used BioThermHD, a glycerin based antifreeze made by the same company that bring you Evapo-Rust?
