Weiand High Rise Intake Flathead
I met a man who was interested in a pre-49 high rise weiand intake manifold for a flathead. I haven't been able to find any reference for the value. I wanted to put a fair price on the intake but I can't even guess. It is in great condition but belongs to my old man. I was hoping to find a price that would be fair to all.

Tudor
Price will depend on condition and # of carb flanges-ie 2 or 3 or 4, with 4 being the most valuable. |

Re: Weiand High Rise Intake Flathead
That's a shame about the name etching. That immediately deducts $500, you should just give it to him.

Re: Weiand High Rise Intake Flathead
I have one and wouldn't sell it for $1,000. For real.

Re: Weiand High Rise Intake Flathead
I have a thickstun and I believe a fenton, both high rise. Bought them for in the $400 to $500 area each. The thickstun was back a few years and the other a year or so ago. Prices have gone up so I may be on the low side. Maybe the weiand has more value, I don't know.
But then, I would not sell mine for $500 either. Neal |

Re: Weiand High Rise Intake Flathead
Hey Gary: Good, right price, I think, I was going to say $800 to $1200 would be a good price, I had one back in the early 50's never got to run it, something called Korea 52/54. and when I came home it and other stuff was just gone ?? Today I don't think it would fit under the hood, on my 39 deluxe, plus the fact I have four other intakes on the shelf. some 2-2's and one 3-2. all polished bright also. I'am sure you will get your price, it worth it..... OLD....BILL .

Re: Weiand High Rise Intake Flathead
Thanks Old Bill. I've had this one for about 30 years. It was an old polish but had it re-polished about 10 years ago. Planned on using it but my projects changed several times. Have had several others over the years but they were'nt near as "pretty". I'll list it for sale officially later.

Re: Weiand High Rise Intake Flathead
Asking price and selling price are two different things … they sell in the 5 and 6 hundred range
A polished one could bring more but the market gets smaller. |

True. Certainly a nice intake and a very cool piece of pre-war flathead history. $1,000 is the price our friends in Europe would pay. Anywhere from $5-700 is a fair price. As someone mentioned, sometimes polished intakes are harder to sell for some purist who want that part believe it is a sin to destroy the "as cast" or original patina of the part. To each his own and best of luck with the sale. |

Re: Weiand High Rise Intake Flathead
That old WEIAND 2 x 2-bbl. hi-rise has become relatively rare. I paid $600 seven or eight years ago for a really nice, un-molested one. Saw the same thing SELL on eBay about a year and a half ago for $1460. I'd suggest $800-1000 as "fair", today. DD
