Default 1931 Rootlieb Running Boards Update

A good friend of mine called Rootlieb to place an order (give them a credit card to order a set of 31 Boards to ship when they are finished) The girl in the office said they are at the rubber company now and should be finished very soon. If you are interested in the 31 Boards it is time to place you order with Rootlieb NOW!
Please tell your friends as this may be the last time these boards are made!

Yes I know Mike it has been a long time coming but I think we have finally getting them this time. Please help spread the word and let people know to place orders now,
I think this all started about 3 years ago when I tried to see if he would make some more 31 boards,
Ken

Thanks Ken...It did start three years ago...Mr. Rootlieb got off onto a project and just finished so he can do the running boards. Does everyone know these boards are patterned on the engineering design that was ordered after May/June 31...just in cast you are going into any judging. Does anyone know what the change was and why?

Ken is correct on the zinc molding...Ross Milne and I found the drawing for that molding which shows the reproductions are slightly inaccurate. But that is not why the engineers revised the board in late 31...
Stay tuned...

I have some more information. The Boards left Rootlieb today, Wednesday March 5th, for the rubber company to be vulcanized. They only made 150 sets of 1931 Running Boards so if you are interested it is best to call Rootlieb and place an order. They will take you r credit card info and will not use it until they ship your boards.
Rootlieb is 209-632-2203
I hope this helps everyone

I am also curious on the difference here... I have an early 31 coupe so what would be the best route for my car as far as sourcing new running boards? (built prior to May)

The Rootlieb boards are the best available. You will need to paint the bottom surface which is bare. POR-15 Chassis Black works nicely.

What is the difference between these boards and the boards from Snyder's?

http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/3068

Are the Rootliebs for fine points cars or do the other repro boards not fit properly?

Sorry if this may seem like a stupid question to some.

PS: I just realized this question was already asked above. They are the best available I see but why? Will the repro boards from Snyder's fit respectably and be sufficient for a driver?

Thanks

These boards are vulcanized to the metal just like the original. They have a raised rubber bead all the way around the edge and are a perfect reproduction of the original CALL ROOTLIEB NOW! AND ORDER YOUR SET!
