Default 1931 rootlieb running boards are coming

I am being told by several people that if you call Rootlieb, they will put your name on the list for the long awaited 1931 running boards. They will take your credit card but will not put it thru until the boards are shipped. I am just making sure we all know what is going on so thanks to all for giving us this info. If you want a set of Boards get on the list today.

What would the running board ZINC trim size up to FINE Point judging... ?? Would of been nice if Rootlieb hook up with Bob Burdick to buy his [dies] for the running board trim for the 30/31 boards... Bob seems not to have the time ...Sold my 2 extra sets...Maybe someday soon they will be made again...

Pete, I don't think it is that Bob doesn't have the time, but more that he no longer has access to the machine to run them on. The dies may have been manufactured to run on a specific type machine that is not available.

Last time i spoke to Bob , he had too many restoration projects going on. And someone said he has the dies or someone else does and someone owns the machine .Something like 2 ships at night.

I spoke with him at length about this several years ago out in San Diego and the way it was portrayed is he had many requests for them but the family who owned the machined sold it without Bob's knowledge and he has no machine to run them on. Maybe that family still has his dies too??

My plate is beyond full so I am not the right person but maybe this would be a great cottage industry for someone who could purchase the dies from Bob and find a suitable machine to start manufacturing them again?? Maybe you to fill in the time when you aren't pushing snow???
