Replacing Wagner Flasher 535

Replacing Wagner Flasher 535 & unplugged flasher before noting what terminal (X, P & L) was clipped into which wire. My three flasher terminal wires are black, blue & red. Don't know if these three wires followed any specific color coding.

36 6 volt positive ground.

How can I get correct flasher terminal on correct wire? Thanks.

X is power (input)
L is load (power out)
P is pilot light

I'm not sure how consistent the wire color coding is between different models, but power in should be easy to determine. That just leaves the load and pilot light. Applying power to the wires should let you see which is lighting up the pilot light and which is going to the system.
