Update on my new Stipe shocks
When I first put them on I commented here that they were nicely made but I didn't notice much difference from my old Hoodeyes. But today I went to the Service Bulletins to see how to adjust them for cold weather driving. After making that adjustment, I realized I didn't have them properly adjusted before. And now, Wow! What a difference! They are great! I had assumed they came adjusted from Stipe, but that was not the case.
When all else fails, read the instructions!

Re: Update on my new Stipe shocks
When you adjusted them did they adjust harder in both directions or only rebound ie. lever going down?
A bit hard to justify the expense with the exchange rate at the moment. |

Re: Update on my new Stipe shocks
I only moved the adjustment needle as specified in the Service Bulletins. I didn't test the resistance by hand.

Re: Update on my new Stipe shocks
OK. Thanks.
I read a bit of an extract from a book on the web the other day that said Henry insisted on the most expensive shocks available at the time and they cost a dollar each, if I remember right. |

Re: Update on my new Stipe shocks
This is the book.
Interesting about the fuel tank, brakes and shocks. Can't seem to find the bit about the cost shocks tho ... might be there somewhere. https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?...iew=1up;seq=37 might take a while for the page to load. |
