Default Car history reseach help in New Port R.I.

Would there be any barner in the New Port R.I. area be interested in stopping in the museum for the "Bonniecrest Estate"? We have owned our 1937 Ford Station Wagon since 1966.....at some point sanding and refinishing the wood in the 70's we found the name "Bonniecrest" in the back doors of the car. For years we had looked for the "meaning" so with the vast world of the internet, I typed in Bonniecrest a year or so ago and came up with this estate in New Port R.I.. I have tried unsucessfully calling the historical society for Bonniecrest but wondered IF in all the records for the house they would have had a list of vehicles for the Estate from 1937 and or beyond and IF our Station Wagon was one of them??? Our car was bought out of Penn. in the early 60's and brought to Fla. and we know it came out of the Northeast, not Pennsylvania. PM if anyone would like to take a stab at it.

If you research it more, 'Bonnie Crest' was the name given to the property by it's owner, 'Stuart Duncan'
Today it is said to have been converted into condominiums.
Vehicle ownership records (if any) would most likely be with the surviving members of the Duncan family, not in the property records.

Try the New Port R.I. historical society. They may be on line.

I can relate to this. I own a vintage race car that was built, raced, and has an extensive history in a certain southern Minnesota town. Mails and emails to the Chamber of Commerce, town paper, racetrack management, and even people with the (rather uncommon) last name of the owners/builders elicited no response. It struck me as rather unusual

Most people don't share our enthusiasms and couldn't be bothered.

Because of all the internet scamming I think a lot of people are gun shy, I know I get dozens of email and many calls on the machine that are scams. I have a tracfone that I pay month by month that I only use for craigslist, saves a lot of grief as I don't answer it if I not selling anything.
