Default Ford Scripted Water pumps

I have 2 Ford scripted Water pumps, I'm cleaning out my shop and not sure if I should just discard them? I kept them because they were the ones on my 59AB Flathead. I replaced with some rebuilt ones of the original style and one of the rebuilt ones had the script. So on that I'm guessing when you have to give cores that's how it cycled thru and got rebuilt and back in circulation.

If I want to part with them is any body rebuilding them and is there any real value, I'm thinking that if you are keeping a vehicle stock and are showing it, concourse or somewhere to that level then one would want that.

Your input is appreciated.

I myself like the ford script on anything I can use, no bigger than the water pumps are it may be a good idea to send them in for rebuild and carry with you on a road trip. as we all know the quality of repair parts has gone to the Hogs, may not be able to get what we need in a timely manner . I guess that is why I have spent the last two months moving spare parts, If I drive it ,I most likely will have a few parts to fix it.

If your 59a pumps are the originals with bushings not bearings
they are the best ones to have Skip rebuild. The bushings are
lubricated by engine oil through the little holes on the face of
the block and on the mounting surface of the pumps. This is
gravity feed oil thrown off the timing gears. Skip has modified
and rebuilt several thousand of these pumps in over 20 years.
In all this time NO ONE has ever paid for pump repairs on the
few that failed. Several people put silicon sealer on the gasket
and plugged the oil holes causing them to run dry. One guy
did this twice and was charged the third time. The shaft and
bushing have about a half thousandths clearance between them.
The shaft and bushing run on the film of oil and NEVER TOUCH
each other. If the belt is tightened with a crow bar it can squeeze
the oil away on one side and wear shaft. YES the shaft usually
wears not the bushing. G.M.

Okay, to actually answer your question:
The Ford script pumps were introduced in 1947.
The cores are worth a few bucks - a few. Is it worth the effort to sell them? Perhaps but probably not. More often than not, the postage to ship the cores will exceed the realized value of the cores.
IF you desire an extra pair, these do in fact make good candidates for rebuilding.

Thanks to all that viewed, and i appreciate those that actually replied, Kube that's pretty much what if I figured value vs. shipping, so the idea of rebuilding them is probably the way to go, for future use, G.M. thanks for Skip's recomendation to rebuild, and letting me know not to modify anything during installation, I am not a big fan what so ever with silicone, friggin mess. Still like to use gasket material. Just the way it is.

A thin coat of grease is best. This seals and keeps the gaskets
in good shape. G.M.
