Model A News Has Shipped

From: The MARC Office and the editor of the Model A News.

As of today December 10, 2020, the Model A News has mailed the November/December issue.

PLEASE be aware that there have been significant delays due to Covid and the Holidays from the Post office. This issue includes 2021 MARC National Membership Cards for members whose renewal was processed by MARC office at time of printing.

And this issue also includes the Registration Forms Insert for the 2021 MARC Membership Meet.
If you have not received your magazine in the next 2-3 weeks due to the delays please contact your local post office.

We thank you for your patience in this matter and are working to get everything back on schedule.

Don't blame the letter carriers, they want to make your deliveries! IT'S the post master general that needs fired! The letter carriers are mostly good people just like you and me, yes there are a few bad apples in a basket.

A vendor shipped me a part via the USPS on December 14. It’s shows as being in the Baltimore Distribution Center still today after arriving there from the vendor. Their tracking says I can expect delivery on December 17. Yes, that was 3 weeks ago.

Hmmm... Shouldn’t the November/December issue ship closer to November than December 10th? Some magazines ship a couple of weeks earlier than the publication date. Is it just me, or does it seem this magazine has been shipping late for a while?

USPS is nothing like it used to be. And they wonder why they are going under.

Priority Mail?? Took three weeks for a 'Priority Mail' package to arrive to me from the middle of Iowa, about 150 miles away. Seems like the 'Priority' with these people today means 'when we dam well feel like getting around to doing our job.'

My November/December 2020 issue “wandered” into my mailbox today, 01/04/2021. That was a tad sloooooow, but then again, it’s late shipment start didn’t help any.

I received my copy a couple days ago. I would be slow to blame the staff, they are dealing with crazy delays due to crazy rules imposed upon them. I don't give the USPS any slack, Covid has been around for awhile and Christmas comes the same time every year.

If you know the busiest time of the year for the post office is the first two weeks of December, you don’t mail thousands of pieces of mail during that time. The planning was very poor !

The Model A News is printed and shipped from a shop near St. Louis. They are all shipped on the same day.

I got mine on the 7th. Elsewhere online people in Florida and Oregon were reporting they received it before Xmas.

It is, as always, a great magazine and worth the wait in my opinion. Thanks to those who help produce the magazine especially Helen and Ken Ehrenhofer.

Still waiting in VA. On the bright side I am in a aviators club that sends out a monthly magazine. The USPS delivered the torn outer shipping cover with no magazine inside it. You gotta love these people.

I live in NW Ohio, and our mail all goes through the Processing Center near Pontiac, MI. Everyone I know that is serviced by that center is just now getting their Nov/Dec issue. I think that the best idea, as others have said, is to just be patient. There is nothing that the MARC Office, Editor, or Board of Directors can do at this point. You might consider not mailing them during the busiest week of the year at the post office.

The USPS delivered my December water bill one a day after it delivered my January water bill. Some vendors will charge you a late fee regardless of late USPS delivery. Sigh...
