Your best bet if available is to remove the glove box door and have it matched at an auto paint supplier.

There isn't enough left to scan. This has been setting for 35 years!

Most old paint codes are useless now because paint formulas are vastly different. A really good body shop can create a very close match. Painting a dash usually requires removal, anyway to get an acceptable result, making testing any good spots not diminished by age or exposure possible.

Even the inside of the glove box door, that doesn't see daylight?

Hope this link works, your paint code might be here. Look through all of the pages that come up when you search on a ‘50 Ford.

I've heard both good and bad reports on some of TCP Global's paint matches. They are about the only ones that will do it without a part to compare with.

Thanks for all the advice. I did get the PPG formula from a friend in NY who had redone his dash in the past. He had obtained the formula from the late Cecil Goff, former '49-'51 advisor for the EFV8 Club, sometime in the past.

Note: the dash is out of the car and has been blasted,

Cecil

Could you post the paint codes I am sure others, including me, would appreciate it.

Seemed to me the their were different dash paint finishes for the Deluxe coupes/sedans and the Custom coupes/sedans. Convertibles were also different.

I have the mix formula for Tan and Gray, both in Acrylic Lacquer. That is not what I wanted. My paint shop is looking , this week, to se if they can match a single stage to it and then I will post the results!

What I said I had couldn't be crossed over. Sorry, it was for Acrylic Lacquer, but didn;t show all that was necessary.
