Why is the forum closed to just surfing through?

I must be robotic as when I try to register I cannot pass the test. Either that or I am being denied access. Why the invite if I am not welcome?

I joined that forum a little while ago, and in the late V8 section there is only a new post or reply to a post about once a month. Not a lot of interest for me, unless it picks up some.
