125 amps doesn't seem like enough. It is common for the switch to have a continuous rating and an intermittent rating. See if the one you are looking at has the intermittent rating listed. As for 6 vs 12 volts, that doesn't matter. It is the higher current draw of a 6 volt starter that you need to deal with.

The one I have is 300 amps continuous, 2000 intermittent.

google cole Hersee, they have some that will stand 500 plus amps I have been using them for over 25 years ,they offer the key type as well and one that will allow a new style radio to retain the settings, the c.h. cost around $30 or near that ,Flaming river offers a 1000 amp ,the price is beyond my reach and not necessary, I put them on the earth ground side whether it be plus or minus in case the cables rub and short to chasis there wont be any fire hazard . if you cant locate one you want , the next trip I take to town I will try and grab an extra then ship it to you, the price may be a little higher as everything has gotten more expensive lately.

The one 1940 shows is the style I use ,and the price is a great deal , I didn't know Pollak offered them. certainly a great price for sure. check the amperage rating, voltage doesn't really matter ,it's the amperage that is the main concern.

This has 1000 amp surge and 185 continuous. Should easily do the job.

I used those keyed red ones, I believe Hella made them, which is, or was a good name, but I found they failed under amperage. I used Cole Hersee from them on in. Never had a problem. They are no longer Made in USA, but the ones from South of the border seem fine.

My 33 got hard to crankr one time, would always start ,but man some times it looked like it would only just turn over.
turned out to be the red plastic keyed bat isolator,]
Replaced it with a proper steel one from an industrial supplier, starts good now.

I have one I bought for my Ford 8N but never used it, I thought it didn't look heavy duty enough. I found an NOS Cole-Hersey on fleabay and used that on my '41 Ford.
