Fake eBay listing
If there is anything that gets me steamed, it's this kind of thing. Clearly, the seller is lying (in his description) so who would deal with him after he has established himself as such a person.

Re: Fake eBay listing
He is telling you it’s a Model A Ford?
No matter what anyone thinks of motive or knowledge. Listing is “Wrong”. Should be removed from this section and listed properly. It could be a nice truck. Enjoy. |

Re: Fake eBay listing
Its kind of like the Ebay "Model A Carburetor" section.
Every carburetor in the world apparently "fits Model A" so it gets included in the listing because it has the words "carburetor" and "Model A." Separate in the descriptor - but there and by being there merits being included by the search engine. I blame sellers apparently trying to "widen" their auction viewership. "Gee, if we include the words 'Model A' we can get in front of a whole lot of buyer$ who MIGHT be interested in our carburetor." Their possibility dooms you to a certainty of having to review their post. I look at many of these carburetors with a thought "yeah they'll fit if you make a transition piece, bore out the main jet, arrange for linkage reverses to control the throttle and choke, and abandon the GAV knob on your dashboard." Of course a few carburetors without much of above WERE applied to the Model A. The Kingston Gleaner fitments come to mind. I will give these a pass in the spirit of generosity. Joe K

Re: Fake eBay listing
If he hadn't put model A in the title how many people would have searched for a Buddy Stewart? Never heard of it myself. He (and you) made us all look!!

Re: Fake eBay listing
IF he had said "Model A Era " that would have been OK . It looks late twenties
I think Buddy Stewart refers to the body builder Pity he doesn't mention who made the rest of it I'm thinking Dodge but probably wrong Any Ideas? |

Re: Fake eBay listing
Also, I think there are many non car people that use "Model A" as a generic term for any old car. Like some call all soda types Coke even when they want an orange.
Whatever it is, I like it! Those wheels are unique and attractive. Amazing that it looks like it is virtually still all there. I'd be tempted to do the minimum to get it running, driving, stopping and leave the patina.

Re: Fake eBay listing
Same can be said for using Model T in the description, which may be used more often then A. Everyone knows that every old car was a Model T! You know my Uncle had one just like it but it was a Chevrolet.

Re: Fake eBay listing
The "Buddy Stewart" name threw me off. It's a Stewart truck. Here's some more info...
https://myntransportblog.com/2014/10...-new-york-usa/ http://forums.justoldtrucks.com/PrintTopic6446.aspx http://theoldmotor.com/?p=105640 It would be interesting to know what engines they used or if they made their own.

BTW, I think that truck is pretty neat. Thanks for pointing it out. But maybe we should beat him up because he "lied" about the number of cylinders also!

Re: Fake eBay listing
Report it if it bothers you. There is a report button on the listing.
