Default 28/29 82A & 30/31 82B Closed Cab Pick Up

Education needed: can someone list the differences between the 82A and the 82B pick ups?

Thanks in advance.

The 28-29 trucks had a square cab, 30-31 trucks had a rounded cab. and bigger rear window. Late '31 trucks had a wider, longer bed, fuel shut-off on the front side of the firewall and other minor changes.

There are a lot of differences between the two.

To build on what was said before.

1928-mid 1930 is a "square cab".

In mid 1930 the body style was changed to a more rounded cab.

In mid 1931 the bed was changed to a "wide-bed" style.

Also in mid 1931 a Deluxe pickup was introduced that had a bed that "flowed" into the cab.

In August/September of 1931 they became a "steel top" which was a stamped steel panel that replaced the fabric covered roof of the earlier ones.

For more reference check out this illustrated body reference.

The list of what is the same would be a lot shorter.

If you're not very familiar with the two types of pickups, then you may be temped to think that Bob's statement is a bit facetious; but oh no, it's spot-on correct from the standpoint of the body.
