Default Cowl lacing replacement style

I just received my cowl lacing kit from Snyders. The 1/2" can be cut to rivet to both sides of the cowl. No problem....works like radiator shell lacing.

The question I have is about the 5/8" lacing for the front of the gas tank. There is no wire in the replacement style lacing, so I am puzzled as to how to attach it. The cowl lacing hook has nothing to hook to.
