8ba Heads 7RT to EAB.
So just cross checked clearances prior to getting EAB Heads milled.
The gasket I used to check was a Felpro with 50 thou at fire ring. My new Felpro 7525 measure 68 thou at fire ring. So figure to allow 50 thou on the new gaskets for calculation purposes. Tighest clearances are at 4 and 8 pistons 95 and 98 respectively. These were at centre area of piston. Used 4 balls in total at each piston. For the recommended 40 to 50 clearance that gives 50 to 55 as a good range. Torque up at 3 cycles to 60 to 65 ft/lbs. Think I'm on right track. Yes? Phil NZ |

Little heavy on the head torque values. The original spec's are in that range, but more than required and the blocks are fairly thin.

Absolutely not. First the 45 thou piston to head clearance is at the closest part of the head, the top is not important. Second, max head bolt/nut is 45 for three hest cycles.

It is infact 125 thou over at 3.200 measurement. Heads to be dropped off tomorrow with a" promised" 2 day turn around. Have had the EAB heads for a couple of years so nows the time to exchange. The head torque got off Van Pelt site but will be guided by 45 ft/lbs. Phil NZ |

Hi Phil. Stock bore of 3.188 plus .020" would be 3.208" . Could that be what your seeing? .125 over would be 3.313" . Please let us know how the EAB heads perform! Terry
