Page 2.9 in the J/S shows the diagram.

Maybe this picture will help. These two brackets are on my unrestored 9-27-28 Phaeton.

the bracket at the terminal box is for the dome lamp, it is the same as for the cowl lamps, the wiring is original--and looks it.

Hi Kurt,
Thanks for the great photos!
Are all three brackets shaped exactly the same????
What month is your coupe???
Thanks,
Ken

Hi Tom,
Why are there any brackets on the right side of a 28 Phaeton?????
Just curious as there are no cowl lights and the electric wiper would go up the left side?? Or so I thought??? mmmmmmmmmmm
Ken
How is that engine running???

Tom, Your picture shows several special clamps with nuts and bolts to hold the gas tank to the front cowl. My 2-8-29 leatherback dose not have these clamps - just the nuts and bolts. My tank is internal and is attached to a rail that runs from the firewall to the front door post. Is the special clamp used only for certain years and models? Maybe for external tanks only? Bill G

Ken, I'm wondering the same thing. Maybe the electric wiper was an option by 9-27-28 for the Phaetons. I'll have to see what's on the left side when the snow melts.

Bill, My 2-23-29 Tudor has the same clamps, and I recently installed a gas tank on a 31 widebed PU and it has 2 or 3 clamps on each side. I don't think the 28 and 29 Fordors had the clamps, but I'm not too familure with them.

Yes, the brackets are the same, my coupe is april-may (april engine)--if it was june it would be indented firewall, it is an original delux, was a trunk model, but was converted before I got it --60s paint restoration and mohair( not quite correct, but was too good to replace when I did a 70s restoration

Thanks Kurt Great help. We are finding that there were two types of brackets and you have the one where the attachment leg of the bracket is a little shorter than the leg with the hole for the wire. later in 31 they were spot welded to the body (indented friewall). Looks like a tech article forming here.......Ha ha,
We are building a June 30 deluxe phaeton and your info confirmed our beliefs and now we know all are the same,
Thanks
Ken
I gotta figure out how to post pictures to explain this better!
