Default original upholstry rumble seat bottom

I'm redoing the seats in my '31 deluxe roadster. When I stripped off the 50-year-old cover on the rumble seat bottom I discovered that it had been put on over the original upholstry. The original is WELL worn, but still in one piece. I hoped that the original seat back upholstry was there too, but no joy on that count. It's too cool to strip off immediately, so I just set it aside for now. I may just put the new seat cover over it, and let someone find it again in another 50 years.

If anyone with and all original car is in need of an original upholstered 31 rumble seat bottom, I might be open to discussion. PM me.

Ditto on the photos. Would like to see if the cushion is in better shape than mine.

OK, so the seat isn't as great as I thought when I first pulled it out from under the nasty vinyl that had been on it for 40 years. It still has good pad, so I just stuck my new cover on it to save it for posterity.

The cushions in my unrestored '31 40B are original and in decent shape. I have replaced the side panels. A picture is included. There are more pictures of the Roadster in my album. Gar Williams

I find that some 50 + year old "bottom" cushions could be very comfortable..

Are these pictures of the original covering, or of the 40 year old vinyl?

It must be the 40 year old vinyl, because I'd love to have original upholstery in that nice of condition for my cars.
