Default Manifold heater top for DOWNDRAFT carbs

City: Davenport
State: Iowa
Price: 25

Aluminum repo manifold heater top for the waffle style exhaust manifold (Sears, Interstate, Autolite among others). What's special about this one is the modification so that it can be used in tandem with a downdraft carb, such as Strombergs. Unless the center portion is trimmed away, the heater top will not fit down over the manifold's waffle because of the intake manifold's tall throat. This heater top could still be used with the standard Model A updraft carburetor without any noticeable loss of heat forced into the passenger's compartment. Snyder's part number is A-18478-S @ $74.95, but this is for the non-waffle manifold. Mine only fits aftermarket waffle style manifolds. Bolts right into place through the top. $25.00 plus actual shipping.

I might also mention that with this cut-out modification, there is direct access to the distributor locking bolt in the cylinder head directly through the hole cast into the waffle portion of aftermarket heater manifolds. No longer any need to remove the heater top just to loosen this set bolt to remove the distributor, as is necessary if the top were left uncut. Win-win!
