For Sale: Firewall battery carrier for 1928-29 Model A’s
Used, VERY WELL-MADE sturdy metal battery carrier for Group 1 batteries mounted on the firewall. This was a popular conversion in the 1940’s and 1950’s to ease removal of dead batteries and then to replace them. Makes jumping batteries in cold weather easier than going through the floorboards. Lots of Model A’s still have the battery located here. Most carriers are rotted from battery acid contamination and/or salt from wintery roads. This one is in excellent condition, no rot, damage or deterioration. I suspect it is a newer repo. Virtually new. The top angle iron is drilled to lay across the gas tank’s flange on '28-29 Model A firewalls. Bolt holes line up with the factory ones for a really secure mounting. Not flimsy or cheaply-made. If your firewall battery tray is rotted or rusted, it’s time to install this one before the battery crashes through. Not offered in vendors' catalogs. $25 plus actual shipping. |
