Saved another one today 40 Ford Sedan Delivery

I just picked this up today. Guy had owned in for probably 20 years of so it wasnt really for sale but i shot a reasonable offer and he accepted. I lucked out and all the important sedan delivery stuff is there. Just needs some rockers and floorboards and somequarter patches...The rear door needs a bunck of work but its there thank god... so the parts hunt begins

If you want to re-skin that back door, be looking for the roof off of something like a '52 Ford sedan. The metal and compound curves match great.

Plans are just metal and body work, shiny black paint, wide whites, 59AB flathead Evans heads, 39 Trans, 39 pedal assembly, Stock frame, lower suspension(tail dragger) fender skirts, and then drive the shit out of it

im a metal fabricator and body man by trade in all honesty theres probably only a few weeks of spare time in steel work

Great Save!

There is one of these sitting in a field by the side of the road near a place called "Goofy Ridge" Illinois (yes, that is the real name), which is in a very rural area near Mapleton/Peoria, Illinois. I saw it twice last saturday on the road between Manito and Goofy Ridge, once coming and once going while driving 60mph. I could not stop to investigate; I just did not have the time and I had others with me who did not share my curiosity. Has anybody on the forum in central Illinois seen this car?

nice find and a very rare model to run across....why didn't I think of that...just make an offer for something even if initially they say "wasn't thinking about selling it" .....they might say OK!

Oh does that bring back memories. My oldest brother had bought one all white and ran like a top. He bought it on leave in the late 60s then reenlisted, left it in my parents back yard and it was my playground, all the neighborhood kids wanted to play in it too until we figured out how to start it and ran over the swing, parents sold it for him and I think he is still pissed

i always hear sotries about car bodies andkids playing in them....my great grandfatherbrought home a T bodyfor my grandmother to play in and my mom and her cousin used to use my great grandfathers panel truck as a play house when they were little....i now have a 50 Chevy panel truck restored like his brought back a lot of memories for my family and people drivingit for the business
