Default Intake Gasket

Am changing the intake gasket on my 8-BA and noticed that it doesn't quite line up on some of the ports on the intake and the block. In other words, there is some overlap into some of the ports. Not much but maybe about a 1/32 of an inch. It would seem to me that this would interrupt the flow to some degree, especially on the intakes. So my question is: Is it worth the time to trim the gasket so it fits each port perfectly or am I just being too picky. It's a Felpro gasket.

There's nothing wrong with being precise. That said, if your engine is stock, I doubt you'd notice any difference . . . but YOU would know it was "right". My $.02 worth.

Thanks Henry, it's not a stock engine.

You're not being too picky. Felpro is good, but on vintage cars you need to take special care. You are fortunate in that you can trim the gasket to make it right. In my case for the intake/exhaust gasket on the 215" six I had to cut a new one complete. Felpro lists only one gasket for 215" , 223" and 264" sixes. Not quite right. The intake ports are different sizes.
