I have used craigslist for year to advertise real estate, cars and parts for sale. Have never been able to figure out how they did it for free. Have been told they generated a lot of money with Ad's... Remember the early days of the internet, (when Al Gore invented it) everything was free and all of the dot.comers were millionaires, that is until someone discovered that the money part was 'smoke and mirrors'..
You watch, facebook will be the next one to start charging membership fee's.. No such thing as a free lunch.

the business's were supposed to be paying a fee, so there was some income. it was one of the last places you could go without half the page filling up with advertisement and videos running, like ebay, most news sites, and my old hotmail account. i'm sure we will see the ads soon
