Re: pressurizing coolant passages on block? And general ?
As far as pressurizing the coolant passages with this engine together...
Don't know if I can do it as I cannot seem to find a plug for the head where the water temp sending unit goes. It is NOT 3/8" pipe plug like the other head. It is slightly smaller. I have tried 3/8" compression fitting but that was too small. Tried a 9/16" fine thread bolt but that was too small. Does anyone know what size and type thread it is? Keep in mind this is on a '37 21 stud engine. |

Are you sure that the gears can be changed? Putting ford gear ratios in the S10 trans. I assume if this is true it would involve changing everything inside the trans including input shaft... Which would mean changing clutch disc and pilot bearing.... I did a search on the internet and was unable to find info on this. It would be nice to know if the s10 trans ends up not working out or needs a complete rebuild |

Re: pressurizing coolant passages on block? And general ?
There are a lot of Chevy T5 gear combinations, but it does depend on WC vs NWC I believe. I have a lot of data on the Chevy T5s but don't really mess with them myself, I'm a Ford guy. As far a using a Ford box, not that difficult, all it takes is an adapter plate and a hogshead. I made my own adapter plate and use original throwout bearing, etc. The other issue is the shifter location, you can switch to a S10 style tail piece, but I'm not a lover of that either! I fab'd a remote shifter setup and puts it back in the stock location and uses the original shifter arm. If you are interested in what gears can go into which boxes PM me.
