[QUOTE=Vic Piano;673574]My wife was complaining that we haven’t had rain (for the fruit trees) in the last couple of days. I told her, like the line in the Temptations song “I can make rain whenever I want it to” She asked how I could do that and I replied, “its simple, all I have to do is wash one of the cars or leave a convertible parked outside with the top down... the sky will open up and pour rain…!" it works every time. Well, I just finished washing the ’51 F-1 and, sure enough, the sound of thunder and dark clouds in the distance are heading our way…

Vic you've been in florida long enough to know that this time a year, rain is certain . On the coast it's all we have been seeing for days... ... November is not to far off.

Tinker, yup... I'm used to the rain in the afternoon (just about every day in the summer) however; we've been getting pummeled with rain lasting all day long for the last week... I'm looking forward to seeing the sun again, hopefully before November... LOL

Mac VanPelt was nice enough to send me the contact info on a "new" Flathead Fan, located in St. Pete, Florida; he has a '40 Standard ForDor Sedan... I talked with him last night and he is planning on coming up this Saturday to meet and play with the Cigar City Flathead bunch. Thanks Mac, looks like I've got a new friend.

Vic my brother is complaining about getting webs between his toes from all the water. He sez he can't even use the push mower. I advised him to get some sheep or goats. He sez he is getting his boats ready.

Chris & Joe, thanks for the info. I think I'm going to see if I can get one of the 8N's from my Uncle... Georgia is also closer to Tampa and even that's a long drive...LOL

We (me, Mike, Don & Steve) met another Flathead Ford fan today his name is JC and he has a '40 Standard ForDor Sedan. He came up to my place with a friend, to join us in our Saturday Flathead Play Time... We didn't get too much done as far as Flatheads are concerned but we were able to get the nuts off of the John Deere mow deck and we took one of the rear drums from Mikes '41 down to have it cut at my friends shop. It was Mike’s birthday (on the 4th) so we all went for Pizza.

The day has finally arrived... we did some exploratory surgery on the wall, to find the steel studs that need to be unbolted so we can use a saws-all to cut the wall and reveal the garage door framing. It won’t be long now and I’ll have the garage converted back into a garage… Now my wife can have her own garage space (in the garage attached to the house) and I'll have room for four vehicles and plenty of additional parts storage space… an added bonus... the space is air conditioned

Not a Normal Wash Day But...

This morning I decided to take the '39 CS for a drive to the local Mickey D's in search of some sustenance to supplement my two cups of coffee already consumed. The other day I had corrected an ignition problem in the '39 so, I thought a ride would do us both some good. When I backed her out of the garage, into the early morning sunlight, I was amazed at how much dust had accumulated on the hood and windshield, in just a few days... I decided to give her a bath when we returned from breakfast... I think she cleans up real nice for a "driver"...

It was a combination of an old coil and frail wire from the positive side of the coil to the distributor. Spark was intermittent so, I tested it by pulling a plug wire to see if it would generate a spark when I fired it up, it did, so I knew the problem was with the coil or the condenser or the wiring from the coil to the distributor. I replaced the primary wire from the coil to the distributor as well as the positive lead wire and, for good measure, I replaced the coil as well... Now all is right with the world as far as the '39 CS is concerned...
