Default New Guy from MA

I am new here. Had hot rods in my younger years (too many to count). As is very common, marriage, kids, house, college got it the way. Finally bought myself (with the brides encouragement) a retirement gift (at 72). It’s a 20 year old deuce build (fiberglass) and I will probably be asking some stupid questions. Please bear with me as things have changed drastically in the hot rod world.

Will post photo of new ride if I can figure it out.

Thanks in advance
Jack

Jack, Howdy and Welcome!

Posting photos starts with Go Advanced, then look for the paperclip which is how you can attach files from your hard drive, or from a web host.

Mild 302. Shift kit with B&M Pro stick. 9" Ford rear with 3.0 gears. Drives nice. They say it's been driven to the Ford Nats in Carlyle 14 times.

Welcome JTone to the Barn! Lot of original and traditional flathead Hot Rod information here. You might also be interested in the HAMB.

Yes, welcome. Building a 27 T track roadster. Ypu might consider putting a Flathead in the Duce. But the 302 is a nice Mill. Good luck.

Welcome - although this is mostly a forum for stock flathead powered vehicles, there are a few of us who lurk here that build vehicles like yours. As previously stated, the HAMB is great but I would "lurk" for awhile and get the lay of the land there. It's a different ball game than here but still many, many who are a great influence, help, and encouragement for/with traditionally styled builds.

PS - and btw, there are many grey beards around reliving their youth on both forums .....

And another welcome from another old ford, old Mass guy. Seattle native but my dad took a job in Boston in '67 as they had originally come from Mattapoisett and New Bedford. I lasted 7 years and came back out west. I loved my time in SE mass and have fond memories of Hanover-Pembroke-Marshfield area. Like may here I am a die-hard flathead guy, but we like any old ford that makes one feel young while tromping on the 'exilerator'.

I'm from the Plymouth area. The cruising season is just about all done, but there is a big cruise every Friday night in Halifax at the Walmart parking lot, at the intersection of Rt. 58 and 106. Usually 400 - 450 show up. PM me if you are ever planning on coming. Jay
