Default 8ba in a 40 Oil pan removal

Can anyone tell me if the oil pan will clear the front crossmember if trying to take the pan off without raising the engine? Its a 8ba with the truck pumps. How high do you have to raise it?

Are you sure it's an 8BA oil pan shown below? In order to fit an 8BA in my 40 I had to use a rear sump (49-51 Merc) oil pan.

You will probably have to raise the engine about 3" to clear the front counterweight.

19Fordy, you are correct it is a 49-51 Merc rear sump pan. The picture looks like a center sump, mine is further back.
