6 volt fuel pumps
I'm interested in what type of 6 volt fuel pump your using and where guys are mounting and running the pump and fuel lines if your running a down draft carb on your Model A.
Mine is starving of fuel and it looks like I will need a fuel pump Cheers |

Re: 6 volt fuel pumps
Electric fuel pump on a gravity feed Model A seems strange.

Re: 6 volt fuel pumps
I ran a Stewart Warner 6 volt pump which I mounted near the tank on my 48. I later ended up replacing and keeping the mechanical pump. Still have it if you are looking for one. Just let me know. I have a holley regulator with it as well.

Re: 6 volt fuel pumps
Mac's sells a small quiet low pressure inline Carter 6 Volt electric pump that you do not need to use a regulator with. Should make the installation simpler.
This pump will work well for your application BUT it will NOT WORK if you are using it in conjunction with a mechanical pump, such for a "Primer Pump" for a V-8. The Mechanical Pump WILL NOT pull fuel thru it. Chris Last edited by CWPASADENA; 04-09-2011 at 09:42 PM. Reason: TYPO |

Re: 6 volt fuel pumps
Lawson It is a down draft carb. It is higher than an updraft.

Re: 6 volt fuel pumps
Thanks for the help guys. My car runs good when the tank is full but when it gets low I have problems.
I don't have a mechanical pump, I just don't have enough height difference from the tank to the carb now I'm running a down draft carb instead of the original up draft. The Carter pump sound like what I need. |

Re: 6 volt fuel pumps
I am using a 6v pump from Mac's at the tank in line with the stock mechanical pump for my 41, works well for priming after long periods of slumber or when I experience a bit of vapor lock.
