Default What cables for Disconnect Switch

I have a post about relocation of a disconnect switch so the handle is in front of the drivers seat, but I have been advised previously to not mix subjects in my post so this is another topic on the switch issue. What do those of you who are switching the ground cable use for the extended cable. I know many available 12V cables are not as large as they need to be for a 6 volt system. I have an extra of the cable to run to the starter if using the negative side, and I think it will reach to the frame from the switch but are there pre-made cables to go from the positive battery post to the switch? Do you use a negative 6volt cable? This is probably a stupid question with a no brainer answer, but for now it escapes me. Thanks for the help.

The heavier the cable, the better, but don't go with a cable smaller than the large cable on the battery to starter. I got mine at a local Battery Wholesale and they are very reasonable. I mounted the switch on the seat riser just below the driver's seat in my '30 coupe. It has become habit to turn in 'on' and 'off' whenever I enter or exit the car. Rarely do I have to charge the 5 yr old battery. It beats having to open the hood each time you was to use it. Good Luck

The cables should be at least 1 gauge, preferably 0 gauge.

They can be found locally at a tractor supply store or welding store.

When you look at "pre made" cables take a magnet, some of the lower quality wires use steel for the terminals --- have seen internal connection problems with these cables after they age a short time

Thanks for the replies, I have the double eye cable that will work from the switch to the frame, but I still need a cable from the positive battery terminal to the disconnect switch. I will check our local farm store.

When I needed a double eye cable from the switch to the frame, I ordered a custom length double eye cable from EBay so I could reach the pre-drilled hole in the frame for the original woven positive ground. I made measurements first using a piece of twine, added a few inches for slack, bends and stiffness, and ordered from an EBay site like this:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-0-Gauge-AW...DLy2tyzoqTzbLQ
