Default 60 Years With The Merc

According to the original bill of sale, my dad bought the 52 Merc 60 years ago on October 16th (tomorrow). So I put together a few vintage photos and some newer driving video to mark the occasion. It was the family car for ten years until the old flathead became impossible to start in the fall of 69.

Sixty years is a long time in the one family. Congratulations on saving this old Mercury.

A lot of the credit goes to the little guy with his head sticking out the driver's window. My little brother , by the late seventies was a certified heavy duty mechanic and he took on the project of overhauling the old flathead. New pistons and a valve grind worked wonders but he did not drive it long and it was parked to sit for the next few decades. I just regret not having indoor storage for it at the time as rodents wreaked havoc on the interior over those years in the woods.
