Default Years Powerhouse Generator Used

I have a 1928 Roadster Pickup.
It currently has the long cylinder shaped Generator.
I believe to be correct, my Truck should have the Short Powerhouse Generator.
I have read that the Powerhouse Generator was used from the beginning thru early 1929. Is this correct?
I purchased a used (Obviously) working Powerhouse Generator for $80.00.
Is there anything Special to look for on these other than the obvious burnt field windings, commutator and bare wires?

If you find you need them, I have a set of field coils for the powerhouse generator.

Style P2 - Used through September 1928. It was also
a 5 brush unit with cutout on the side and used with
engine built through April 1928. Thereafter the cutout
was on the top. The steel back cover was cadmium
plated through early 1928 and black thereafter.
The generator was mounted with a 1/2” screw through
the front timing gear cover, which threaded into a forged
single tab generator bracket. A 1/6" thick and 7-1/4”
long cadmium plated adjusting arm extended from a two
screw side bracket. To a special stud. stud. A leather washer
was used between the adjusting arm and the bracket.

Style P3 – Used from from October 1928 through July 1929. It
was a 3-brush unit with cutout on the top and a steel back back
cover painted black. It was mounted the same as Style P2
but with a malleable cast mounting bracket and it had
no adjusting arm.

Thanks Mike that's great info. My truck is a November 1928 Date. So it looks like a three brush powerhouse would be correct.
I'm still waiting on the generator to arrive in the mail.
Pgerharte I'll keep your Field Coils in mind as I may need them.
I'm told the generator spins when hooked up to 6 volt battery. I have a growler and armature lathe but hopefully they will not be needed.
Thanks again to both Model A Men!
