Default Clutch Pedal on 39 Ford came off!

I did drive it a while without realizing it was on the floor! When we stopped my wife pointed it out. The thread on the peddle looks OK. However it does not screw into the clutch lever all of the way! Same for the Brake peddle! This could be a dangerous situation if it happened at the wrong time!

Does anyone know the bolt size?

Any suggestions for getting it to go all of the way in to the hole?

Thanks

They don't screw on all the way, at least the repo pads don't. Put some tape or loctite on it.

They're 1/4 NPT pipe thread. Screw them in till they are tight.

It is a tapered thread as has been mentioned. There should be a split type lock washer placed between the pad and the arm just as Ford had installed it back in '39.
