Engine Mount Bracket
Hi Guys, I have seen pictures in some workshops a bracket that attaches to the engine mount stand to hold the A engine side on - does anyone know how I can obtain one of these ? I saw one of these used by member Gary WA. Also can anyone help with specs and dimensions for a timber cradle (stand) if I pull the engine with sump and transmission and have something to drop it into. I would appreciate some help here. Re: Engine Mount Bracket
Do you have a copy of Bratton's catalog? On page 38 there is a side mount engine stand adapter. I have one and it works well. You have to have a 3 point or 4 point engine stand to use with the adapter. I think this is what you are referring to.

Re: Engine Mount Bracket
I don't know if you have the ability to fabricate and weld but those special fixtures are easy to build and alot cheaper, built a frame spreader from the catalog picture in one afternoon.

Re: Engine Mount Bracket
Thanks rocket1, I will look into this as well - I wish someone had the dimensions or a drawing to assist here. The bought item is not cheap. John Spragg . Australia.

If you don't have a welder or access to low priced steel, you might be better off to buy the ready made one. Steel has gone up a lot in the past few years. I need to take new pictures of the adaptor I made, because I have notched the bottom of the pipe and heavy plate to access the center main bolt and nut. I cut at the center of the pipe diameter back about to the square pipes. |

Re: Engine Mount Bracket
Bert's in Denver (frequent poster here) has them I'm told has the engine holder for the stand.

Re: Engine Mount Bracket
The adapters sold do not fit every engine stand. The adapter end tube may be too small.
