My 30 open cab pick up is finished
Hi All,
I thought you might like to see my 1930 open cab pick up. I have loaded some pictures of it as found in 2007, one of the body being done around 2010 and some of it now its finished. The engine I know is the wrong color, but at the time it was the only paint I could get here due to foreign currency shortages and I wanted to get on with my project. Hope you enjoy see ing my little truck Regards Viv B4 restoration.jpg IMG_0250.jpg projects 030.jpg projects 031.jpg projects 032.jpg projects 033.jpg projects 035.jpg |

Very nice! I've heard of the problems with getting parts and the cost due to exchange rates being hard to deal with. I visited some Model A owners in south Africa and they talked about it at length. Hope you can get your truck out on the road for people to see.

Very nice indeed! Did you acquire these old Ford projects in Zimbabwe? How difficult are original parts to find locally? Do you order your repro parts from the US like the rest of us? Very impressed with your roadster pickup. mike

Re: My 30 open cab pick up is finished
Normally Model As with a sidemount spare has it fitted on the drivers side I suppose Henry thought it would be easier to change a flat in the street and not in a ditch !!! I cant see if your restored PU has dual sidemounts maybe it has. I have LHD and RHD they have the spare on the drivers side . Your PU is a super restoration and doing it in Zimbabwe must have been a real challenge for sure congratulations . Could be it started life with the spare on that side maybe a special order .

Nice work. I am always amazed at how the right handers have all of that stuff packed around the carburetor.

And it only took you 10 years - that's quick work by my standards. I'm especially fond of RPUs and yours is a beauty - well done!
