KR Wilson tool
Any idea what this is and how it works? Friend says it has KR Wilson on it and Ford Model A. It is about 2 feet tall.

Re: KR Wilson tool
It is a rear axle leaf spring compressor meant to be used while the rear axle assembly is in the car. They are fairly plentiful and in my opinion not one of the best designed krw tools. I have 3 and 2 are in my sell or trade pile . I’m consider myself a serious Kr Wilson tool collector. If you collect them it is one of the pieces but I wouldn’t count it as one to use. You are better off with the modern style from the dealers for $100 and change.

Re: KR Wilson tool
Agreeded not the best tool. Chock blocks under the spring eyes, tighten down the tool

Re: KR Wilson tool
Those claws for the spring pack don't look too secure to me.

Re: KR Wilson tool
Reading this subject I can tell lots of KR Wilson tool collectors are responding.
I have been looking to buy the tool used by dealer mechanics. It's the 3 foot steel bar used to turn the engine over from the front ratchet pulley nut. I want to actually use it, not a garage wall hanger so it's gotta be in usable shape. I've seen one at Hershey many years ago and regret not buying it. Every year I go back the vender is there but not the wrench! Never seen another one although everyone knows what I'm asking about. |

Thanks for all the help on the ID of this. FYI, he searched his pile of stuff from his dad and does not have the plates.
