Default Package Deal....

Any of you had experience in selling multiple cars as a 'package deal' - that is, selling several cars for one money? I'm contemplating trying this with my three V8 Ford cars. Seems to me that in doing it this way, it would certainly simplify things & time saving comes to mind here. I'd appreciate hearing both pro and con in selling my cars this way....

Well, a con I can see is that there'll be fewer potential buyers of three cars, because they'll need deeper pockets. Surely you'd be better off to advertise each vehicle individually, but with reference to the others available and see what transpires? My opinion.

with the wide variety of opinions about cars, and the inventory already in a prospective buyer's possession, my opinion is that some of those three cars would have less value than others to the buyer. My guess is they would expect a significant discount from the individual cars' collective value. I know I would.

Yes , it would probably simplify things . Not sure if it would save any time , because it would probably take longer to sell as a package . You have to find that party who wants all three of those cars , and can afford the one money for them .
I would sell them individually , because a package or bundle deal always sells for less.

I recently bought a 1940 Ford standard tudor, 3 - 59A engines, 3 side load transmissions and two pickup truck loads of miscellaneous small parts as a package deal. I was a happy buyer and the seller was happy. I couldn't get the seller to throw me a package deal price so I threw him an offer on the whole lot and he was satisfied. After the deal I thought perhaps I paid too much?

I bought my two V8s as a package, but that was because I liked both of them. I bargained for a lower price buying the two. I still probably paid too much!

Buying a car and some parts with it is a lot different than buying two or more cars as a package.

People will pay what they are willing to pay regardless of whether it's one car or a package deal. This is sometimes done at auctions.

I'm thinking that three completely different era cars would be a difficult package to sell.

You'll make more selling three separate cars as opposed to a package of three, assuming you are selling the cars yourself and aren't paying a sales commission. JMO
Good luck with your endeavor.

Wow, Petehoovie, a beauty. Thank goodness I have no garage space or money! Maybe you should post photos of all three, so at least we can ooh and ahh over them.

Pictures are posted in a album I created. This Forum is not the proper venue to sell these cars. I was just asking for opinions here....

I find these posts to be very interesting--I have thought of selling my
34 Fordor by the piece--It would give me a project for probably a year or more and might help quite a few people looking for hard to find parts--Might even bring more return--

Petehoovie, if you don't mind me asking; why do you want to sell those three beautiful cars, (package deal or otherwise)?
Doug.
