Default Carb cleaner

Anyone have a carb cleaner that actually works? I’m rebuilding aaMarvel Schleber and want to get it really clean. Used to have some really good stuff but it’s all used up now.

Take apart-I like lacquer and then beadblast-check all parts -reassemble- after proper paint.

I've successfully used Berryman Chem-Dip, a 96 Oz. "paint bucket" size can with a dip tray. Won't hurt brass or aluminum , pot metal. really cleans well in a few hours or even overnight. It'll burn skin, curl nose hairs, so in my opinion, works well. Done about 8 carbs and other really dirty parts in it and it's starting to lose it's magic powers. I think I paid about 12 bucks for it at my local Autozone.

Exactly what I’m looking for. Didn’t know they still made this. 20 yrs ago I bought a big dip can of this product. Worked great. I figured that anything available over the counter in today’s ‘green’ culture would be watered down badly.

One would think so... here, they're banning plastic shopping bags. Hope they don't find out about our Berryman's..

I forgot to check the label on the can we got in Portland Or. The California stuff is different then other places, go figure and I think we got a can of it. Not the same old stuff. Maybe further north you will be safe and get the good stuff.

The original product is still available and there is a California Compliant version . The Cal Comploant stuff has the letter "C" at the end of the product number and is not as good as the original cleaner.

Thanks for the "C" information. We talked about it at the shop but I got onto other things and forgot. LOL

Well I checked our can for the number and no "C", but this can sure is not the same as the last one we got.
