Default Spark plug thread renewal suggestions

I would like to put new threads into a set of Edmunds heads. All 8 spark plug holes feel to loose to me. Am looking for suggestions on heli-coil or thread-serts. Any specific brand that seems to be best. Thanks

We recently finished repairing a set of Edmunds (but later, 8BA's), needed quite a bit of welding/machining, but came out excellent. Customer was very satisfied.

The best spark plug inserts are the 1-piece that incorporate a "new" seat area for the spark plug washers!

Easy to install and you won't notice them in there with the plugs installed! They CANNOT go through like conventional heli-coils may! Photo below, they come in various lengths depending on the plug length requirement.

Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

P.S. To your other post about milling, not familiar with the years you have but I can't see any major issues so long as the milling is not extensive. Can't tell about that without actually looking at the castings.

Do a search for "Time-Sert". They're a common item.
