Default Oil sending unit

I replaced the sending unit in my gas tank the instructions stated 6 & 12 volt. So my question is does the same thing apply to an oil pressure unit if so what size thread an I looking for don't want to remove old one with out a replacement. Thanks for any information

The sending unit should work on 6 or 12 volts. The pressure of the sender needs to be matched to the gauge.

A modern sending unit is going to use resistance vs the original current pulse. They seem to work, but I would think the celebration and the rate curve are going to be off. l would just consider it an indication.
