Ok, here is the Link to my 390 Auburn photos!

This roadster was all new underneath.



The couple who brought it were very nice and offered to let my boy hop in for a test drive! I forgot to warn them that he knew where the horn was.



My boy brought his own '36s to the show...



Oh. My. God. There are 3 rows of '36 Fords!



Awesome.



While going through the Foundation Museum... holy crap, this dealership is less than a mile from my house!

The fordoor made it! In spite of throwing a rod on Sunday! I was disapointed that my cabriolet didn't make the show, but in a small way it did. My cousin pulled out the motor of the cabriolet and put it in his fordoor for the show.



This belongs to a friend of mine. We didn't run into each other until later that night at Mad Anthony's!

One of my favorites. Ron and Kathy were super nice. I didn't realize until I got home it was their car in the V8 Times this month all the way from California.



This gentleman drove from Colorado in his Argentina Cabriolet. Super nice fellow.



Show was over at 3pm.





Cabriolets everywhere! I took a liking to this one. Maybe it was the seldom seen color?

Besides ours, I think only 2 other '36s had fog lights. All of ours have either the pair or a single (5 window and the delivery). Foglights make any Ford better, IMO.



My favorite part was the cars on the square. So much better to see them in the natural elements vs a grassy field.

I like the wide 5 and the Delivery conversion. Or maybe it's a boulevard delivery. Not sure on that.

How often do you get to take a picture like this?



My cousin Owen and my boy on Saturday. He really wanted to ride in the fordoor in the worst way. No seat belts though.

Well that's just a few of the pics. More in the link at the start of my posting. Hope you enjoy them. My first EV8 show as a member and it was loads of fun. It was a great slice of heaven to see so many Fords everywhere we looked all weekend.

Nice pictures Django. I was hoping to find you there at the show but unfortunately I had no idea what your real name is, or who I was actually looking for, so obviously I never found you . That '36 standard 5w coupe from California was one of my favorite cars there at the meet. It was also chosen to be parked inside the museum during the awards banquet. The owner did a very nice job of restoring that car. The gray '34 5w coupe with "Motor City Flathead Test Car" on the door belongs to Mark Kirby who once owned Motor City Flathead's in Detroit, MI. He is now part of Shadow Rods. The engine in that car is one of his 327 CI aluminum block Flathead's. I think he said it has 225-250 hp. My car is the black '35 sedan sitting next to his car in that picture.
Also, it was my impression that the blue '32 sedan with the rear door conversion was actually what's known as a boulevard sedan but I never got to discuss that possibility with the owner.

Several years ago I bought a large photo on Ebay of the 46's being unloaded at the Jim Mills Ford dealership. Framed it and always hung in my shop in front ofour 46. Great photo! I always wondered where it was taken. Is the building still there? What town in Maryland?

The dealership photo description said it was Oak Park, IL. Not sure if the building is still there but I want to do some digging to find out.

Anybody know anything about the origin of the Motor City '34?
I was wondering whether it might be Flatdog's old 12 second coupe...Flatdog died a couple of years ago, and was well connected with Kirby and Motor City.

Brian, no 35/36 Deliveries, although in 2009 when I went just for the swap meet on a day trip, there was a early 80s style '36 street rod Delivery in the hotel parking lot.

I agree Rick. Everyone was very welcoming. I think at first most people were surprised to see someone with show credentials with a toddler.

Thanks for posting, great photos, love the street scene, two great old fords going their own way.
The dealership photo, I have only been to Oak Park a couple of times on my way to vist the Frank Lloyd Wright house/studio, but it looks not unlike the street that crosses the one that comes up from the station, probably totally wrong but it sort of looks familiar.
Thanks again, now got to go back and look at these photos again.

Django/Chad, I just went back and looked at your pictures again and found a shot of me wandering around the town square in a daze looking at all the cars and watching that beautiful '36 Jensen pulling in. Also noticed that shot of the '35 Roadster, driving by the '36 coupe w/fender skirts, was Dave Collette and his wife Nancy. They completed that car last year in a total of 10 months and it was on its maiden voyage at the Auburn show. I was part of the team that judged that roadster on the show field. That is a very nice car!!

Thank you for your inquiry to the Historical Society! We love to hear from people interested in our community’s rich history. Jim Mills Ford dealership was located at 1011 South Blvd in Oak Park. Sadly the building no longer exists. The dealership was sold in the 50’s and just a few years ago the building was torn down for condo development. But thank you so much for providing the link to that wonderful picture!

If I had only known a few years ago! Interestingly enough, there is an area in the South part of Chicago that was known as dealership row. The Ford dealer there from the '20s is still in operation! I've been meaning to drive the coupe down there but so far it hasn't happened yet.
