Default Deck Lid handle retainer

Can anyone help me with a photo of back side of 31 Coupe deck lid handle ? There appears to be some sort of retaining clip to keep the spring from getting lost. My entire handle was missing and I have picked up a handle at garage sale but it appears to be missing whatever holds the clip and spring in place. The handle I bought does not have a threaded end. Maybe I have the wrong style handle ?

Thanks dusty

dusty,
"picked up a handle at a garage sale"
yes, a Model A handle has a threaded end to the shaft...that is what holds it to the deck lid.
Garage door mfg. still make a handle that looks Model A at first glance, but does not have the threaded shaft; check one out at a big box store.
I think what you need is a good repro deck lid handle available at any of the popular A vendors for about $40.

That handle looks like a door handle, not for the decklid. Rod

you have a 28-29 door handle
this is one style of trunk handle
its a Crown
this was used on 30-31 cars
the 28-29 were nickle plated

the rumble handle had a longer threaded shaft(next two photos)
with the correct mounting washer and nut

Thanks everyone for the help and clarification. Anyone got one for sale for a 31 decklid (not rumble style). Does not have to be show quality and prefer not to have a repro. Thanks.
