Default Talk about woodies..

This lifted from Theoldmotor.com. Can you imagine the excitement around the dealership the day they arrived! Anyone around Fredericton NB remember anything about these woodies? I can't imagine the survival rate was very high considering they were rode hard and put away wet in the government service.. http://theoldmotor.com/?p=161159

That's a great photo and story. It does look like they are longer than a standard wagon. Maybe just the perspective view?

I also think the camera angle makes them appear longer. Lets face it when the Govt puts out a contract for ten vehicles they generally take the lowest bid. I cant imagine they would be looking for specialty wagons in 1937. Can you imagine the tooling involved to produce extra long woodies? ;-) Bill

Probably something to do with the guys sitting low down too. The rear windows look proportionately correct to the middle windows. The rears should be about 65% longer than the middle windows. If it was a custom I'm guessing they would have still used the standard doors so that glass wouldn't change.
